Kidney Patients Welfare Society (KPWS) is a Government approved Charity which was formed in June 2003. The main objective of the Society is to develop the infrastructure for kidney patients in the country. Currently, the facilities available could cater to approximately 1/5th of the patients in Sri Lanka. KPWS successfully completed it’s first project by constructing a dialysis unit at the Colombo South Teaching hospital, Kalubowila which caters to the many patients attending the hospital. The unit is equipped with some of the most modern dialysis equipment and very skilled medical team. With the completion of the above project, KPWS has begun fund raising for its second project which is a Transit Home in Thalapathpitiya for patients traveling from outstation for treatment. » |
